Our 30-Point Quality Check Process
Every order goes through our rigorous quality assurance process. We check everything – from file format and size, to colours, fonts, and resolution – to ensure your printing comes out perfect.
Initial File Check
1. File Type
PDF or JPEG files are preferred. We also accept TIFF, Illustrator (AI) and Photoshop (PSD) files.
2. File Size
Maximum 200mb in total. Larger files can be sent via WeTransfer or compressed.
3. Page Count
We verify the correct number of pages are uploaded for your specific product.
4. Printed Sides
We check that the correct number of sides are uploaded for your job type.
5. Orientation
We verify landscape or portrait orientation matches your order requirements.
6. Spot UV Setup
If required, we check that Spot UV is properly configured in your file.
Design & Layout Check
7. Fold Lines
We ensure fold lines are correct and even throughout the artwork.
8. Finishing Requirements
Whether it's foiling, eyeletting, or perforation, we verify your artwork is set up correctly.
9. Customer Information
We check that you've supplied the correct order number and any specific requirements.
10. Proofing Method
We determine if your job needs automatic or manual proofing based on product type.
Manual Proof Check (Where Required)
11. Order Details Match
We verify order details match the artwork provided.
12. Content Appropriateness
We check that all content complies with our Terms & Conditions.
13. File Size Accuracy
We ensure the file height and width match your chosen finished size.
14. Text Legibility
We verify fonts are no smaller than 8pt for readability when printed.
15. Resolution Check
Small format (300dpi minimum), large format (150dpi minimum),
banners (75-150dpi).
16. Safe Zone
We ensure a 3mm border around artwork to prevent text/imagery being obscured.
Technical Specification Check
17. Bleed Area
We verify 3mm bleed is included to account for guillotine variation.
18. Colour Profile
All artwork must be CMYK. We check and convert if necessary.
19. Transparency Issues
We identify and resolve any transparency issues that could affect colours.
20. Layout Consistency
We verify your artwork matches the product you've selected.
Final Prepress Check
21. Orientation Verification
Final check that artwork orientation matches our internal system.
22. File Size Verification
Final check that file size matches your order specifications.
23. Printed Sides Verification
Final check that printed sides match your order.
24. Preflight Test
Final automated check of colours, size, resolution, fonts, and setup.
25. Cutter Guidelines
We ensure cutter guidelines won't print with your final artwork.
26. Spot UV Alignment
If applicable, we verify Spot UV elements are aligned correctly.
Font & Format Compliance
27. Font Embedding
We verify all fonts are embedded to prevent design changes.
28. Transparency Flattening
We flatten any remaining transparency in your file.
29. PDF/X-1a Compliance
We ensure your file meets PDF/X-1a:2001 standards for printing.
30. Final File Size
We verify the final file is under 200mb for processing.
